Bobby K started as a project. I started designing at age 16 and would sew my sister ridiculous knock-offs of some of the headline inducing body suits Britney Spears would open awards shows with. I realized I might have talent when I saw an 8 year old catwalk down the cul-de-sak with a giant rubber boa constrictor.

From there, I began using basic sewing skills to create generic knit tops for my high school girlfriends. Upon positive reaction from the girls on the other side of the cafeteria, I began to make pants, dresses, and a dollop of mens wear. My high school fashion design career hit its zenith when I made maternity prom dresses for the knocked- up girls.

After high school, design took a back seat in my life for a few years while I was trying to get my life together and figure out how to be an adult. Part of expressing yourself is truly knowing who you are, and I was no where near where I wanted to be. In the Spring of 2004, I decided to move to Gainesville in order to settle down and start a life as a grown up, when i realized my long forgetten hobby, sewing. I began hand-stitching and embroidering purses and wallets, and realized quickly I needed to get my self out there to show people what I was capable of and to let them know who Bobby K was.

I had moderate success as a felt-molding magician, and oddly, was longing for something higher. Something better. Something with heels.

I got myself a dressform and sewed like no one had ever sewn before. I was making victorian halter tops, trapeze dresses, satin clutch purses, and some of the most vulgar graphic pieces this side of Mexico.

I showed my first full line of muslin dresses, hand dyed and deconstructed, on April 24, 2006 and have had several successful lines since then.

Thanks for taking the time to read all this business. It means a lot to me that people are as supportive as they are, and I will never forget that.
